Accessibility
Rollworth is a founder-owned property tax appeal company. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
The target
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target we have designed and tested against, not a certification.
What is built in
- The assessment check is completable using a keyboard alone, from the first field to the result.
- Focus is always visible, and it moves to the heading of each step when the step changes.
- Each step change and each result is announced to screen readers.
- Errors appear both in a summary at the top of the form, with links to the fields, and beside the field itself.
- Every control has a real label, and touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Colour is never the only way meaning is carried. Errors are marked by an icon and by wording as well as by colour.
- Headings follow a logical order, and there is a skip link to the main content.
- The frequently asked questions use native browser disclosure controls, so they work before any script loads.
- Animation is minimal, and it is disabled entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Automated accessibility checks run against the homepage, the intake, and a county page as part of our test suite.
What we have not done
Stated plainly, because "fully accessible" is a claim we are not in a position to make:
- The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
- It has not been tested by people who use screen readers, magnification, or switch access daily. Automated checks catch a minority of real barriers, and we do not want to imply otherwise.
- It has not been tested across every combination of browser and assistive technology.
The one part that needs JavaScript
The assessment check at /check runs step by step in your browser and will not work with scripts disabled. Every other page on this site works without JavaScript.
If you would rather not enable scripts, email us the property address and we will run the same check by hand and reply the same way.
Tell us if something does not work
Email hello@rollworth.com and describe what happened and what you were using. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will help you the way that works for you: there is no part of this service that requires you to use the website.
