Legal
Terms
Rollworth is a founder-owned property tax appeal company. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice.
What these terms cover
Your use of this website and the assessment check on it. They are not the terms of an engagement with Rollworth. Those are in the engagement letter, and if the two ever disagree, the engagement letter governs the engagement.
A submission is not an engagement
Completing the assessment check is a preliminary intake. It does not create a client relationship, it does not oblige Rollworth to take your case, and it does not oblige you to engage us.
An engagement begins when you sign an authorisation and an engagement letter. Until both exist, nobody is committed to anything.
What we say about your property, and what it means
Anything this website tells you about your property is an assessment of the information available at that moment. It is not:
- a promise that Rollworth will file an appeal;
- a prediction of the outcome of an appeal;
- a valuation of your property;
- a statement of the tax you will pay; or
- legal advice.
No outcome is guaranteed. A reduction in Assessed Value does not necessarily reduce the tax you currently pay, for the reasons set out in the assessment guide.
Rollworth is not a law firm
Rollworth is a property tax appeal company. It does not practise law and does not provide legal advice. Where a matter requires legal representation, it is referred to an attorney.
Rollworth does not claim any partnership, affiliation, or arrangement with any law firm on this website.
Fees
The published fee schedule is the schedule we work from. In summary: residential engagements are $199 flat and charged only if we obtain a reduction; commercial engagements are a percentage of first-year savings; every engagement runs 3 assessment years.
The reduced commercial rate for signing within 10 days runs from the timestamp Rollworth records when it makes you a written engagement offer. That timestamp is set by Rollworth's systems. It is not started, restarted, or extended by anything you do on this website, and there is no countdown here that affects it.
The fee that applies to you is the one stated in your engagement letter.
Service area
Rollworth currently accepts properties in seven Michigan counties: Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, St. Clair, Washtenaw, Lapeer, and Genesee. We are not accepting properties elsewhere, and nothing on this site should be read as an offer to act outside that area.
Using the site properly
- Submit information about property you own or are authorised to act for.
- Give us details that are accurate, because we will act on them.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems.
- Do not submit anybody else's personal information without their knowledge.
